Order online and choose your monitoring duration — 24-hour, 48-hour, or 7-day — depending on how often you experience symptoms.
We’ll ask about your symptoms to help ensure you’ve chosen the right duration. If we feel a different duration would be more appropriate, we’ll contact you to discuss before dispatch.
Your device will be dispatched within 48 hours via Royal Mail Next Day delivery to your home. Please note that over weekends and bank holidays, there may be a slight delay in dispatch, but your device will still arrive quickly once it ships.
The device is simple to fit yourself with easy-to-follow instructions included in the package.
Very little preparation is needed. Just avoid moisturising lotions or oils on your chest the day you fit it. If you have chest hair, shave the area where the patch will go for the best adhesion.
Continue all your medications unless your referring doctor says otherwise. You can shower with the device on, but avoid baths or submerging it completely in water.
The device records continuously throughout your chosen monitoring period — just carry on with your normal daily life. It’s lightweight and comfortable, and most people find it barely noticeable after the first hour or so.
Once your monitoring period is complete, pop the device in the prepaid return envelope we provide and drop it at your local post office or any Royal Mail post box.
If you can’t get to a post office, no problem — we’ll arrange a courier collection for you.
Once your device is returned, our team analyse the data carefully. Your results will be emailed to you and your GP within 5 working days.
It’s important to discuss your results with your GP, who will advise you on any further investigation or follow-up care if needed.
All ambulatory ECG monitors are analysed and reported by our Advanced Cardiac Physiologists and peer-reviewed by a second physiologist as standard.
No. You can self-refer directly for ambulatory ECG monitoring. Many patients book without a GP referral. If you have been referred by your GP or consultant, we’ll send your results to them as well as to you.
It depends on how often you experience symptoms. If your symptoms are daily or frequent, a 24-hour or 48-hour monitor is usually sufficient. If your symptoms are less frequent or intermittent, a 7-day monitor gives you the best chance of capturing them. If you’re unsure, order what feels right and we’ll contact you if we think a different duration would be better.
Yes, you can shower with the device on. However, avoid baths or fully submerging it in water, as prolonged water exposure can affect the adhesion and data quality.
No problem at all. Let us know when you place your order and we’ll arrange a clinic appointment for our physiologists to fit the device for you. You’ll come to our clinic, we’ll fit it, and you’ll go home to wear it for your chosen monitoring period.
Pop the device in the prepaid envelope we provide and drop it at any post office or Royal Mail post box. If you can’t get to a post office, we’ll arrange a courier to collect it from your home.
Ambulatory ECG monitoring can detect arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms), atrial fibrillation, ectopic beats, pauses in the rhythm, and other electrical disturbances that may only happen intermittently. Many of these would be missed by a standard resting ECG.
