24-Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring

A simple, portable device that records your blood pressure throughout the day and night as you go about your normal routine. Gives a much clearer picture than a one-off reading.

Understanding your blood pressure patterns

A 24-hour monitor captures your blood pressure throughout your entire day, revealing patterns you’d never see from a single reading at the GP.

Clinical Assessment

Your clinician has noticed your blood pressure is elevated during an appointment.

Home Monitoring

You monitor at home and have noticed elevated or significantly varying readings.

Family History

A family history of high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease or kidney disease.

Medication Check

You’ve started blood pressure medication and want to see if it’s working effectively.

White Coat Syndrome

Your readings are high at the GP but you suspect they’re normal at home. A 24-hour recording shows the true picture.

Pregnancy Monitoring

Blood pressure monitoring during pregnancy to check for pre-eclampsia or pregnancy-related hypertension.

Frequently asked questions

No, you can order directly without a GP referral. If you’d like your results sent to your GP or referring clinician, we can arrange that for you.

The cuff inflates periodically to take readings, which you’ll feel as a gentle squeeze on your arm. Most people get used to it quickly. It’s designed to be worn during normal daily activities, and many patients wear it without any discomfort.

Yes — in fact overnight readings are an important part of the assessment. The device takes readings automatically while you sleep, so you can leave it on all night.

The only thing to avoid is getting the device wet. Don’t shower, bathe, or go swimming while wearing it. Simply remove it, shower or bathe, and then put it back on.

Use the prepaid envelope we provide. Just drop it at any post office or Royal Mail post box. If you can’t manage that, we’ll send a courier to collect the device from you — just let us know.

A single reading at the GP can be affected by anxiety (sometimes called ‘white coat syndrome’) or just natural variation. 24-hour monitoring captures your blood pressure across your whole day — at work, at rest, and overnight — giving a much more accurate picture of your actual blood pressure patterns.
